Before anything is cut, I design by hand. The signed sketch belongs to the piece — it shows that the design and the craft come from the same hand.
Reclaimed pallet wood, sanded and sealed
Reclaimed pallet wood, visible heat-treat stamps, honest construction: I built this kitchen island as a sturdy working piece, solidly bolted, with a two-tier shelf. The material tells you where it came from — the surface is sanded and sealed for daily use.

MDF, matte-lacquered in several coats
Calm floor-to-ceiling fronts in matte white, precise gaps, recessed handle channels instead of applied hardware. I lacquered them in several coats in my own workshop — for a surface that feels as good as it looks.

The foam was collapsed, the cover brittle. I stripped the seat completely, re-foamed it, cut it to shape and re-upholstered it tight. Repairing and restoring is as much part of the craft as building new.
